Problem hedges are a high profile issue that, in extreme cases, can lead to violent disputes between neighbours. This section explains the common law position and remedies available to a property owner in relation to problems associated with neighbouring hedges. It explains the history of attempts to develop legislation to address the issue of problem hedges, and the key provisions of Part 8 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003, which now provides a means to deal with these problems.
